The Challenge: Can a practical electric vehicle be made?
What does "practical" mean?
Affordable The cost to own and operate the vehicle must be reasonable for an average user. The vehicle cost must absolutely be under $30K and preferably under $20K.
Long Range Data shows that a 50 mile range will serve 95% or more of the population. Even so, consumer acceptance seems to require a 100 mile range.
Comfortable to drive and carry one or two additional passengers.
Highway Legal A top speed of at least 65mph is required.
As of today, no such vehicle exists. This might change in the near future, but right now the competition is more hype than reality!
It is the goal of Avian Motors to make the worlds first practical electric vehicle.
